Vice Chancellor's Message

Telangana is the 29th state of the Union of India with the city of Hyderabad as its Capital. Telangana is situated on the Deccan Plateau, in the central stretch of the eastern seaboard of the Indian Peninsula. The region is drained by two major rivers, the Godavari and the Krishna River. It is an agrarian state with predominately rainfed Agriculture. Livestock play an important role in the livelihood and nutritional security of farmers in the state and hence, Livestock sector has been identified as one of the important growth engines to achieve sustained growth rate in Agriculture. Realizing the importance of livestock in rural economy, The Government of Telangana State established a separate University for Animal Science, Veterinary and other allied sectors. This University has the mandate of Teaching, Research and Extension to cater the needs of stake holders.
